Mrs. Basks and Mrs. Shuck are introducing a mobile administration approach at Catalayah for the 2024-2025 school year, inspired by other successful schools. This plan will make the principals more visible and accessible by having them move around the school with mobile desks. The mobile carts were purchased for Mrs. Shuck and Mrs. Basks through a grant funded by the Claremore Public Schools Foundation.
The goal is to enhance connections with students, teachers, and staff, address behavioral issues early, and improve communication. Mobile desks will allow principals to manage their time more effectively without being tied to a stationary office. The initiative will start with reviewing current discipline data, setting up the mobile desks, and then tracking changes in behavior and collecting feedback to measure success. Catalayah is excited about this new approach to boost school culture and efficiency.

We just wanted to give everyone a heads up about our upcoming dress up days for Red Ribbon Week.
This will be Oct 28-Nov 1.

IT'S NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH WEEK!!
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy established National School Lunch Week to emphasize the vital role a healthy school lunch plays in a child's life—both in and out of the classroom.
At Catalayah Elementary, Mary and her crew work tirelessly every day to ensure our students enjoy nutritious and delicious meals for both breakfast and lunch. We appreciate their dedication to fueling young minds!

The 5th-grade math students in Mrs. Riley's class are actively working on modeling the addition and subtraction of decimals. This hands-on approach helps them visualize how decimal values interact through addition and subtraction. By collaborating in groups, the students gain a deeper understanding of decimal operations, enhance their problem-solving skills, and build confidence through peer interaction.

🍁CPS will be closed for FALL BREAK October 17-18, 2024.
Do you need something to do? 🎃 Carve a pumpkin and post a photo in the comments on our social media.
Enjoy the time with your family, make a memory, and we will see you on Monday, October 21st.
Ms. Ford's 5th grade Social Studies class embarked on an exciting, interactive scavenger hunt! Students were divided into groups and challenged to complete five levels, each filled with four questions about Jamestown, their current history topic. But answering the questions correctly was only half the battle—they also had to solve a puzzle at each level to unlock a secret number key. The activity was a thrilling blend of history, problem-solving, and teamwork, making learning both fun and interactive!
