Mr. Hartley (formerly known as Kaysen) stepped into the spotlight as 1st Grade Teacher for the Day after winning big at PTO Bingo Night! 🎉👨‍🏫 He jumped right into the role, taking lunch count and attendance, teaching reading, and even leading a lesson about Deer. (his special request). Mr. Hartley tackled grading, spent some quality time in the workroom, and enjoyed a well-deserved McDonald’s lunch—plus plenty of snacks throughout the day. It was an AWESOME experience from start to finish! Great job, Mr. Hartley!

Jax cashed in his PTO Bingo winnings and took on the role of Principal for the Day! He started his day strong by hosting Rise and Shine and quickly embraced one of the perks of the job—spoiling the staff! Mr. “Chip”man made special snack deliveries before diving into his duties. Jax picked the perfect day to be in charge, helping with preparations for the big fundraiser delivery. While on lunch duty with Mrs. Shuck, he even got to see his little sister! He enjoyed getting to have lunch in the workroom with the 1st grade teacher of the day, a fellow 5th grader Kaysen. After all the hard work, Mr. Chipman and Mrs. Shuck visited a few classrooms to observe the amazing learning happening at Catalayah. Fantastic job, Jax! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Thankful Thursday! Today, we’re giving a big shoutout to our incredible bus drivers! 🚍✨ They’re up early, working tirelessly to keep our kids safe and ensure they get to and from school without a hitch. These amazing people are often the first and last smile our students see each day, bringing positivity from sunrise to sunset. Our drivers do so much more than drive — they’re also there to support school experiences, like field trips and join in on our dress up day and even make appearances in some of our TikTok's!!! A special thanks to Brandon and Kevin, our transportation directors, for their dedication to keeping everything running smoothly. We’re so grateful to have the best transportation crew around! Thank you all for all you do! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our 5th graders have been hard at work preparing for JA BizTown for months, learning about financial literacy, teamwork, and business operations. Yesterday, they had job interviews with amazing community leaders—it was such a fun experience! Today, they heard mayoral speeches and held an election. Congratulations to Jett, our newly elected BizTown Mayor!!!

Mr. Winiecke’s music classes have been diving into the world of the xylophone! Did you know this percussion instrument has roots dating back to ancient Africa and Asia? Its name comes from the Greek words “xylon” (wood) and “phone” (sound), meaning “wood sound”. Xylophones are not just fun to play—they help develop rhythm, coordination, and even math skills as students explore patterns and pitches. Our little musicians are learning how to make this timeless instrument come to life! 🎵👏 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Big shoutout to our first Bingo Night winner to cash in their prize—Coach Eli! Yesterday, he stepped into the spotlight as PE Teacher for the Day, and wow, did he crush it! 🎉 Coach Eli led the charge, explaining games, demonstrating skills, and keeping everyone moving and grooving. Coach Hughes even hooked him up with an official whistle—every PE teacher’s must-have! 🔔💪 Whether it was warming up the class, running relay races, or blowing that whistle like a pro, Coach Eli had a blast and did an outstanding job keeping our students active and engaged. Way to go, Coach Eli! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
