Mrs. Collins 2nd graders showing what they're thankful for 💛🧡

Welcome, December! ❄️🎄
Here are the breakfast & lunch menus for the month. 🍳🍕🥗

5th graders working on their BizTown Cherokee Phoenix newspaper! 📰📰

You might be familiar with Westside's "Westie Besties" where each class has a buddy class to support and encourage throughout the year.
Ms. Pilant invited Ms. Barbee's kindergartners to come look and learn all about third grades Native American projects! (Check back later to see more on those projects)

Pre-k students had their very own "Friendsgiving". Students got to write compliments each other on place mats for them to use at home. Each student also got to pass out some of their favorite things to their friends and thanked each other for their friendship.
Way to exemplify kindness and lead the way with friendship, pre-k! ♥️👍🏻🫶🏻

5th graders in Mrs. Ramsey's class using their STEM skills to Trap a Turkey! 🦃🦃

Mrs. Sanders class voting on their favorite Thanksgiving food with Ms. Lang in library! Rolls are the favorite with cranberry sauce in last place.
What's your favorite Thanksgiving food? 🦃

Sip, Share, and Support! 🍋 This November, enjoy the refreshing taste of Chick-fil-A sweet tea and lemonade at your gatherings while contributing to a great cause. Chick-fil-A donates $2 to the Claremore Public School Foundation for every gallon you grab! Let's top last year's $3,000 donation for class and teacher grants district-wide. Cheers to #CPSZEBRAPRIDE!

🦃 Just a reminder that CPS will be closed next week, November 25-29, 2024, for Thanksgiving Break 🦃
"We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives." - John F. Kennedy.
💖 CPS is thankful for the opportunity to serve you, your family, and our community.
We look forward to seeing students again on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Kindness Week has come and gone, but Westside loves to celebrate kindness all the time! ❤🦓❤
Show kindness by giving someone a hug, a high-five, making them laugh, sitting with them at lunch.

We wrapped up the pumpkin contest and here are the rest of the submissions! Westside was thrilled with all of the great entries, there were some amazing works of pumpkin art! 🎃

Cooler weather is coming, and there are many jackets in lost and found! Remind your student to check the lost and found this week! 🧥❄⛄

Don't forget to send canned foods and non-perishable food items with your students for Westsides annual food drive! These items go to help families in our own community. Some examples of these items are stuffing mix, gravy, canned foods, instant mashed potatoes and dessert mixes.
You can send these items until November 22nd, and the winning wing will win a pizza party!

Happy School Psychologist Day to Westside's amazing Mrs. Walters! 🌟
Your dedication to supporting the well-being and success of our students is truly inspiring. 💖 Thank you for all the guidance, care, and positivity you bring to our school every day. 🎓😊 Westside appreciates you! 🙌✨

Last Spring, Ms. Lang received a grant from Casey's for $5,000. She just received the books that she purchased with that grant for Westside's school library! 📚📚
Ms. Lang said "I am so excited to get them out on the shelves for the kiddos!"

Westside third graders have been studying Native American history and are currently working on their own projects studying the history of different tribes.
Ms. Palmer shared her heritage and knowledge of Native Americans in a wonderful presentation for all of the third grade wing. She shared dances, clothing, and the different expectations of the Native American people during their dances. 💃🕺🎶
